Master Your Metabolism by Jillian Michaels book review

Since I've been starting to workout again I have been not feeling so good.  I feel good during the workouts and after them, but the rest of the time not so good.  It's like I can do a certain amount of exercise and then after that my body crashes.  Sometimes really hard.  After meditating on this I come to the conclusion that something must be really wrong with my food choices.  I ate mostly good food so I thought, until I read this book.

Some of food you think is good food really isn't all good food.  It's good food mixed with basically fake food.  And guess what?  That fake food is bad for you, worse than you think it is.  Your body isn't sure what it really is so it just guesses on what hormones to put out to digest it right.  So then your hormones get messed up, which messes your body up, which makes you gain weight and or feel bad.  So your wondering what food is this fake food in?  Just about everything, but mainly processed foods.

Also the chemicals your expose too mess up your hormones and poison you.

I can't put down all the notes from the book because that would be plagerism, but I can give you an overview of what to do to get you nutrition and hormones back on track.  Please read the whole book if really want to know everything.

Remove
Remove all processed food from your diet.  Anything made from refined grains, vegetable oils, added sugar, High Fructose Cornsyrup, partially hydronated oil, and artificial sweeteners.  Just throw it away, it's not good for anybody.

Restore
Restore nutrition with good whole foods.
1. Legumes: Beans and such
2. Allium: Garlic, leeks, chives, shallots, scallions
3. Berries
4. Meat and Eggs
5. Colorful Vegetables
6. Cruciferous Vegetables: Broccoli, Cauliflour, Kale, Rutabaga
7. Dark Green Leafy Vegetables
8. Nuts and Seeds
9. Organic Dairy
10. Whole Grains: Make sure it says 100% Whole grains.  If it just says whole grains it may not be.  Look at the ingredients to make sure.

On top of all this good for you food you should take a multivitamin, calcium supplement, and Fish, Qurill, or Flaxseed Oil.

 Rebalance
eat every 3-4 hours
eat breakfast within an hour of waking
don't eat 2-3 hours before bed
Get 4-5 hours of exercise a week

Detoxify
Remove all plastic containers that are #3 PVC(some cling wraps), #6 Stryofoam(coffee cups, meat trays), #7 PC unless it says BPA free(some containers, rinse canned food thoughly)
Not good, but Okay Plastics: #1, #2, #4, #5: Don't microwave food in them.

I know it's a lot to change, but I think it's definitely worth it.  The fake food and chemicals are slowly killing you and making you sick preventing you from reaching your potential.  Even if you change some it will help you.  I've been doing it for about 3 days now and I already feel the difference.
